When I was trying to figure out what to do with my life I took all those “what career should you choose?” quizzes. Every time they would recommend accounting.
I kept ignoring them because it sounded boring but considering that as a kid I sorted pennies by year into organized and labeled rolls for fun I probably should've known better.
Once I stopped denying it I realized accounting isn't boring at all. It's actually really interesting. It's powerful and connects to a lot of other important business processes and fields.
So many businesses fail, not for a lack of creativity or determination but a lack of understanding and business processes, regulations, and effective organization.
Originally, I wanted to build a fully automated financial software program. I learned to code and started building it but then realized something. Automation shouldn't replace understanding.
So I started writing, and Meriones was born.
Though I do still work on that automated software version and hope to release it someday soon.
My Credentials
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and am currently pursuing my Master’s.
I work in the field and genuinely enjoy it, but more importantly I understand what it feels like to not understand it. And that’s who I care about helping.
